Recently, I have been working with YVB & HPO for the Homecoming Festival. I have also been able to hear a lot about the Yap Living History Museum. The Living History Museum's purpose is to make the public aware of the significance of traditional culture in the history of the Yap islands and to enrich public understanding and to engage the public in consideration of past and present village life.
They are planning to have cooking demonstrations, colorful dances and demonstration of cultural skills. One suggestion is to bring back cultural skills that have been long forgotten. One idea is to research and train in the art of Yapese pot making.
